The relationship between the guru and the disciple can be likened to that of a washerman and cloth, with God Himself serving as the soap. 

In this analogy, the guru takes on the role of cleansing the disciple, much like a washerman washes a cloth to remove impurities. 

The disciple, represented as the cloth, undergoes this transformative process under the care and guidance of the guru. 

God, as the soap, is the essential element that purifies and uplifts, enabling true spiritual cleansing. 

Through the dedicated efforts of the guru and the disciple's willingness to surrender, the divine presence acts to remove the stains of ignorance and ego, ultimately revealing the disciple's innate purity and potential for spiritual growth.
